How does Zoom!® whiten your teeth?

Zoom!® uses a bleaching gel containing 25% hydrogen peroxide, which penetrates the enamel and dentin to break down stains. When applied, the gel releases tiny oxygen bubbles that lift discoloration from your teeth.

A specialized mercury halide light activates the gel, accelerating the whitening while minimizing heat to reduce sensitivity. This light features a unique infrared filter to keep your teeth comfortable throughout the process. The internal tooth structure remains healthy and unharmed.

Results vary depending on your staining and dental condition. A consultation helps set realistic expectations and ensures Zoom!® is safe and suitable for you. Only patients with healthy teeth and gums should proceed; dental issues like decay or gum disease must be addressed first.

What to expect during Zoom!® treatment?

At your initial appointment, our caring dentist will explain the procedure in detail. On treatment day, your teeth will receive a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and debris. Protective eyewear and splashguards will be provided to keep you safe.

Here’s a quick look at the Zoom!® whitening steps:

• Cheek retractors placed to fully expose teeth.
• Gums coated or shielded to minimize sensitivity.
• Whitening gel carefully applied to your teeth.
• Halide light positioned to activate the gel on all teeth at once.
• After 15 minutes, gel is removed and mouth rinsed.
• Gel reapplied for another 15 minutes.
• Gel removed and mouth cleansed again.
• Final gel application for 15 minutes.
• Gel removed for the last time.
